Client: UC San Diego and Wexford Science + Technology

At its core, UC San Diego Science Research Park is focused on people and shared interactions to foster an intellectual campus community. Its public realm, not the building program, serves as the campus’ primary armature, prioritizing the natural landscape as its connective tissue. Two axes, forming a cruciform shape, anchor public life and establish a pedestrian precinct.

PATHWAYS OF CONNECTION
RELM’s approach to the public realm consists of two signature public spaces, the Campus Mews and Innovation Commons, that diversify programming, plantings, and levels of collaborative open space. Linked by the common spine of Innovation Walk, the SRP is connected to both the Health Science Campus to the north and Mesa Student Housing to the South.
