Wilshire Grand, while enjoying the stature of being the tallest building west of Chicago, exacts its true imprint on downtown Los Angeles due to its elevated urban plaza, gracefully perched over the intersection of 7th Street and Figueroa. The plaza is an important new civic space along the Figueroa Corridor, LA’s grand boulevard, and creates a communal space at the point of confluence of office, hotel, restaurant, and DTLA’s street life.

RELM’s approach to the landscape, similar to the architecture, was inspired by California’s high sierras and pays a nod to the building’s Half Dome inspiration. Cascades, springs, and pools enhance the experience on the plaza level; contemplative gardens adorn the reception and pre-function spaces on the 5th floor; a fashionable pool deck entertains patrons from the Intercontinental Hotel, and the Sky Bar, some 73 stories high, offers visitors some of the most remarkable and long-ranging views of the city.
