Glendale, CA
Client: Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) and City of Glendale

RELM’s conceptual design of a 27-acre cap park over the 134 Freeway in Glendale stitches together a downtown long separated from its residential community as the highway, constructed in the 1970s, bisects the city into two halves. Our design calls for 7 pedestrian/vehicular crossings, spaced every 700-1200 feet, allowing residents to traverse from one setting to the next, accessing an expansive park setting as well as Glendale’s civic and retail cores.  The project summarily improves mobility, commerce, and public life in LA County’s third-largest city.
