Next Project
District
NoHo
North Hollywood, CA
Client: Trammel Crow Company and LA Metro
LA County’s largest public-private development, District NOHO will be an iconic destination for residents and commuters alike in the San Fernando Valley. The project leverages the convergence of mobility (rail and bus) to render density unseen in the Valley—a true game changer—connecting 17 regional buses, the G and B lines, to office, commercial, and residential programs that flank a 2-acre open space.
BUILDING A DISTRICT DRIVEN BY MOBILITY
Since the initial competition submittal, RELM has advised TCC on how to envision a unified district, designed for multiple uses, by multiple architects, anchored by an expansive public realm.
We began with a comprehensive analysis of current and future users—North Hollywood being proximate to a high concentration of entertainment companies—proposing a suite of uses desirable to a changing, more affluent demographic. Different modes of mobility are central to the project ‘s armature and experience.
NESTED SPACES
Primary public open spaces are supported by a surrounding network of neighborhood streets embedded with bike infrastructure.
A DYNAMIC NEW MAIN STREET
District Way, the east-west backbone of the project, is being designed as a shared street.
