SANTA MONICA COLLEGE - MATH AND SCIENCE BUILDING

SANTA MONICA COLLEGE - MATH AND SCIENCE BUILDING

Client Yazdani Studio of Cannon Design
Location Santa Monica

The landscape for the new Math and Science Building at SMC is derived from organic forms that artistically render four distinct zones: plaza, core, streetfront, and tower. Radial pathways connect each zone to one another and ultimately, to SMC’s primary open space, the Quad.

The core is the most verdant of the four zones. It will showcase a beautiful array of Mediterranean flowering plants, a terraced lawn, a water feature, and stairs resembling the Spanish Steps providing an iconic backdrop to outdoor lectures.
