A gifted project manager, John brings a global understanding to the role open space design plays in the health and well-being of local communities having worked in Australia, China, and the U.S. He tirelessly champions active transportation networks, understanding landscape architecture’s ability to systemically improve quality of life and public health. At RELM, John has led multiple LAUSD projects including Polytechnic High School and Ascot Elementary; two METRO TOC developments—Crenshaw Crossing and Santa Monica and Vermont—and is currently managing the studio’s largest DGS commission, Richards Boulevard. Here, a new 5,000-person government building will hasten the repositioning of Sacramento’s River District with an inviting public realm replete with transit access into Sacramento proper. John is versant across multiple delivery methods contributes to several studio operational initiatives including staffing, business development, recruiting, and studio culture.
