RELM seeks a creative, conceptually driven landscape designer/architect with 6-10 years+ experience to join our growing practice. You are a seasoned practitioner, can lead projects through all phases, and value design rigor and craftsmanship. A successful candidate thrives in a collaborative studio environment, possess exceptional graphic and technical documentation skills, communicates effectively in both narrative and verbal format, and enjoys contributing to studio culture/education.

This position truly sits at the core of RELM’s project delivery. A Senior Landscape Designer, or if licensed, a Landscape Architect, serves as a project manager on jobs and plays an integral role in authoring studio commissions. Responsibilities span design, client communications, staffing and financial performance. Candidate must be expert in managing up and down; you will direct junior staff and lead internal reviews with senior leaders. Licensure is encouraged and is necessary for promotion.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Develop innovative and highly creative design solutions in response to challenges posed by project’s scope
• Participate in project meetings and presentations, both internal and external, throughout all project phases
• Manage preparation of landscape architectural deliverables for all project phases, including proposals, presentations, concept, schematics, design documents, cost estimates, and construction documents, inclusive of project budgets and schedules
• Manage project team workflow, ensuring collaboration, maintenance of schedule, and comprehensive project coordination at all levels
• Work directly with studio leaders to facilitate the design direction and to guide the design process
• Conduct in-house quality control review of projects
• Mentor and train junior design staff
• Participate in studio marketing efforts through proposal development, interview participation and presentations
